A man in Michigan's metropolitan Detroit area was charged in a district court Wednesday on two misdemeanor counts after he was unknowingly caught on camera allegedly pleasuring himself with an Elmo doll during a home inspection.
Kevin Wayne VanLuven, 59, of Clarkston, was arraigned on charges of aggravated indecent exposure and malicious destruction of property under $200.
The incident took place in the home of an Oxford Township couple in Oakland County, part of the metropolitan Detroit area, on March 12. The couple were having their home inspected by VanLuven before its sale.

According to a statement from the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, the couple let VanLuven and the buyer's real estate agent into their home and left the property during the inspection. The 22-year-old female homeowner was later alerted on her phone by a nursery camera that there was movement in the nursery.
When the homeowner checked her phone, she allegedly saw VanLuven in the nursery. "As she continued to watch, heand she began recording the incident," the statement said.
"VanLuven then picked up the doll from the nursery floor and appeared to be pleasuring himself with the doll. He then returned it to its original location," the statement added.
VanLuven was arrested Wednesday without incident by the Oakland County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Apprehension Team.

During questioning, VanLuven claimed he moved the doll to inspect an electrical outlet but did nothing else. When he was informed there was a camera in the nursery, "VanLuven allegedly made incriminating statements and apologized," according to the statement.
Magistrate Karen Holt set a $2,500 cash or surety bond on the charges. Aggravated indecent exposure carries up to two years in prison and a $2,000 fine, while the property charge carries up to a 93-day jail sentence and $500 fine.
As a condition of his bond, VanLuven is "not to be in a residential property he doesn't own" and is not allowed to have contact with the victims. He is also required to have a mental health evaluation.
VanLuven's next court appearance is on April 19 before District Court Judge Nancy Carniak.
Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said: "Just when I think I have seen it all, someone steps up and surprises me with a new level of disturbing actions.
