Energy Cottbus has committed a new head coach for the coming season. Claus-Dieter Wollitz is awarded for the third time in Lausitz.

Wollitz had already looked after Cottbus from July 2009 to December 2011 in the 2nd Bundesliga and later from April 2016 to December 2019 in the regional and 3rd league.
