Beijing (Reuters) - The Resurgence of Covid-19 cases in the province of Fujian, who recorded 152 new local contaminations in five days, pushed several Chinese cities to issue Warnings to travelers on the edge of an important tourist season.
These recommendations occur before the holiday week corresponding to the Chinese National Day, October 1, a very tourist period, and the mid-autumn party next week.
The National Health Commission has declared Wednesday that 50 new local infections had been identified in China on September 14, compared with 59 the day before.
China's latest outbreak linked to primary school
China's latest outbreak linked to primary schoolInitial reports suggest the outbreak could be due to a student's father, who tested positive last week.
If all these new contaminations are located in the coastal province of Fujian, several provinces and Chinese cities across the country have advised the people to stay at home during these holiday periods or to avoid any unnecessary displacement out of cities.
Wenzhou, in the province of Zhejiang, north of Fujian, has decided to close the interior leisure places for two weeks.
for Zeng Shidian, Director of the Wenzhou Disease Control and Disease Center, there would be a "high" risk that the city records cases imported from Putian and other parts of Fujian because of the circulation of people and goods.
According to Julian Evans-Pritchard, China's Senior Economist at Capital Economics, efforts to contain the Epidemic in Fujian could disrupt the next vacation, a key period for consumption.
According to him, supply chains could also be affected because Fujian is a hub for commerce.

Here’s Why China Could Be Sucked Into the ‘Graveyard of Empires’ .
As the U.S. brings its long war in Afghanistan to a close, the Chinese government this week hosted a Taliban delegation in the port city of Tianjin. Chinese diplomats extended to the Afghan delegation warm hospitality, flattering words, and signs of an apparent willingness to play a greater role in Afghanistan going forward. Personally, I feel that the U.S. stance toward China has sometimes been more hostile than is helpful in recent years. But, passing the baton on Afghanistan to them seems especially harsh. After all, for centuries it has been the losing ticket of geopolitics and, in recent decades, for the U.S. and the Soviet Union a particularly costly and tormenting one.
