The $27,845 Sport trim adds 18-inch wheels, a black grille and side mirrors, body-color rocker panels and trunk spoiler, LED fog lights, and a two-tone cloth interior with red stitching. Lane-change assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and push-button start are available as part of a package that also includes a sunroof and the larger infotainment and navigation screen.

For $30,645, the Limited model ups the luxury factor with leather seats, heated rear seats, a power passenger seat, keyless entry with push-button start, reverse automated emergency braking, lane-change assist, and blind-spot monitoring all standard. The tablet-style infotainment system, a sunroof, heated steering wheel, and Subaru's attention-monitoring DriverFocus system are available as part of a package.

The Legacy's top two trim levels come with XT badges, which denote the 260-hp turbocharged 2.4-liter flat-four that powers them. That engine is paired with a CVT and all-wheel drive, and it also brings sound-insulated glass to the front windows to drown out any increased noise from the turbocharged engine.

The Limited XT starts at $35,095. It comes with the more powerful engine and makes the optional equipment in the 2.5-liter Limited trim standard. The top Touring XT trim will cost $36,795 and adds a front-facing exterior camera, nappa leather seating, and satin-finish exterior mirrors.

Subaru hasn't announced an on-sale date for the new Legacy yet, but we expect it to come either late this year or early next.
