Lamborghini Sian Officially Debuts Tomorrow, But You Can See It Now

Lamborghini Sian Officially Debuts Tomorrow, But You Can See It Now The $3.6 million electrified bull. If you’re among the one-percenters with a Lamborghini parked in your garage, there’s a pretty good chance you’ve seen this image already. That’s because Sant’Agata Bolognese’s next bull is already being previewed through the official Lamborghini Unica, a smartphone app exclusively dedicated to Lambo owners. Details are murky at this point, but the car is apparently called “Sian” and costs a cool $3.6 million.

The Sian is not the first Lamborghini to be electrified , but it is the first one people can actually buy since the Asterion hybrid and the pure electric Terzo Millennio were both concepts. A hybrid Urus SUV will follow eventually, but Lamborghini is in no rush since the regular twin-turbo V8 version is

Lamborghini Urus is the world’ s first Super Sport Utility Vehicle, in which luxury, sportiness and performance meet comfort and versatility. This is how the first model of the Lamborghini Huracán was born. More performance, more control, more innovation.

It's now also the most powerful Lambo in history.

Yesterday’s leaked photo previewed what is the first-ever production electrified model from Lamborghini. The Lambo Sian now makes an online debut in its full glory, revealing its spectacular design and impressive performance ahead of a public premiere at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show next week. And it’s a sight to behold.

Getting to the point without further ado, the supercar relies on the same 6.5-liter V12 naturally aspirated engine that’s also used by the SVJ. In this application, however, it is accompanied by a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, which adds 34 horsepower (25 kilowatts) for a grand total of 819 hp (602 kW). These numbers turn the new Sian into the most powerful production Lamborghini ever, taking the crown from the 770-hp (566-kW) SVJ.

2020 Lamborghini Sián Is an 819-HP V-12 Hybrid Hypercar

2020 Lamborghini Sián Is an 819-HP V-12 Hybrid Hypercar The Sián is limited to just 63 units, and uses a supercapacitor instead of a battery. It also has a better power-to-weight ratio than the Aventador SVJ. We've been hearing rumors of hybridized Lamborghinis for years now, and today, we finally get to see the first one. This is the Lamborghini Sián, an 819-horsepower V-12-powered hypercar that uses a supercapacitor instead of a lithium-ion battery for its hybrid system. Just 63 will be built, and they're all sold. Sián means "flash" or "lightning" in the Bolognese dialect—an appropriate name for Lamborghini's first production hybrid.

Aside from being Lamborghini ’ s first mass-produced SUV, the upcoming Urus will pave the way for the brand ’ s future adoption of turbochargers and electrification in its models. Speaking with Car Advice at the global launch of the Aventador S, Lamborghini R&D boss Maurizio Reggiani confirmed

While the power is up compared to the SVJ, the 0 to 62 miles per hour (0-100 kilometers per hour) acceleration time is identical. The sprint takes just 2.8 seconds and the top speed is electronically governed at 217 mph (350 kph) – not even close to the Bugatti Chiron Sport’s recent 304-mph (490-kph) run but definitely not slow by any means. However, the car is slightly faster than the SVJ when it comes to the 19-37 mph (30-60 kph) and 43-74 mph (70-120 kph) acceleration times – by 0.2 and 1.2 seconds, respectively.

In terms of design, it’s probably safe to say the Sian borrows most of its design elements from the Terzo Millennio. While obviously not as dramatic as the concept, the latest model to come from Sant’Agata Bolognese is a head-turner with its aggressive and angular lines, and perfect supercar proportions. Take a look at the back and you’ll notice six hexagonal LED taillights perfectly corresponding with the exhaust tips featuring the same basic shape.

Lamborghini Sián Kicks Off Lambo’s Hybrid Era with 807 HP and a 218-MPH Top Speed

Lamborghini Sián Kicks Off Lambo’s Hybrid Era with 807 HP and a 218-MPH Top Speed As the fastest and most powerful Lamborghini ever, the Sián is a special beast and only 63 examples will be made. Lamborghini's Sián (the name means "lightning") will be produced as a limited edition of 63, all of which are already sold. The V-12—powered hybrid makes 807 horsepower with combined thermal and electric power, including what Lamborghini claims is the world's first use of a supercapacitor in a hybrid. Lamborghini claims a zero-to-62-mph time of less than 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 217 mph.

Lamborghini leaks its upcoming hybrid Sian hypercar via its mobile app. On a day that’ s dominated by the pre- production Super Sports 300 Edition Chiron, Lamborghini gave a special look at the upcoming Sian Unlike the car it’ s based on, the Sian looks slightly more subtle than its SVJ cousin.

And if you are wondering about that ‘63’ badge on the little carbon fiber shark fins at the back, it indicates the number of examples Lamborghini will build. Just 63 lucky customers will get the chance to buy the Sian at a starting price of $3.6 million, which will allow them to individualize their cars through the company’s factory customization program.
