The Demise of Gas-Powered Cars is Further Off Than You Think

The Demise of Gas-Powered Cars is Further Off Than You Think I've been somewhat blindsided with how quickly electric car production has ramped up in recent years.Regardless of the highest number on your car audio's volume knob/button/touch screen, the song demands you play some air guitar then use the steering wheel as a kick and snare drum for a few bars. From there, you a hit the throttle a little harder than you normally would. It's just what you do.

“Bad boys, bad boys, whatcha gonna do, whatcha gonna do when they come for you?” It may be the catchy tune that goes along with a b-list crime show on TV, but when the bad guys go running in Durham Region, on the east side of Toronto, Air1 is going to be on their tail!

In the wee hours of January 27, a female caller informed 911 that a guy that she knew was chasing her in north Oshawa, trying to run her off the road. Lucky for her, Durham Regional Police Services Air1 is stationed within seconds of her location.

2020 Ford Explorer to go RWD, get 400-hp ST version

2020 Ford Explorer to go RWD, get 400-hp ST version The Explorer's gonna go back in time.TTAC broke the news about the platform switch four years ago. The return to rear-wheel drive would take the Explorer back to its roots; the first four Explorer generations were truck-based, rear-drive haulers. The new CD6 architecture is said to be a big chunk of the $5 billion Ford invested in Lincoln, and it works for front-, rear-, and all-wheel-drive vehicles. That kind of flexibility leads us to believe it's more like Volkswagen's highly adjustable MQB toolkit than a traditional platform. The CD6 foundation will also support an unnamed Lincoln to be built at the Chicago plant.

Within minutes, the chase was on and Air 1 had eyes on the late model Chevrolet Camaro as it headed east along highway 401, at speeds reported as high as 237 km/h.

What ensued was believed to be the second longest helicopter chase ever in Ontario and the entire event was caught on night vision camera from the Bell 206 Jet Ranger helicopter.

The driver headed north from the 401 towards Peterborough before turning back towards Oshawa on Ganaraska Road. Using instructions from above, officers on the ground deployed spike strips to disable the vehicle.

Once the Camaro had flat tires, the Air1 footage shows the driver fleeing on foot. As he crosses a field, he can be seen to drop something, which he goes back to pick up. Then, as police on foot are getting closer, he leaves the package behind.

2018 Subaru WRX STI Type RA First Drive

2018 Subaru WRX STI Type RA First Drive Just how good is the most expensive Subaru ever?Flush with cash in October 2001, just before the dot-com bubble burst, I went to an Audi dealer to buy an S4 Avant. Perhaps it was my Alice Donut T-shirt and camo shorts, but I couldn't get a salesperson to even look at me, let alone give me a test-drive. I'd read a review in our sister publication Automobile (by none other than Jamie "NVH" Kitman) stating not only that the new-for-the-2002-model-year Subaru WRX was their Automobile of the Year, but also that the rough and ready, bug-eyed, rally-based bruiser had performance akin to a Porsche 911 4S.

Surrounded by police and on night vision camera, the 47 year old perp is apprehended and subsequently charged with a bevy of drug related infractions along with the obvious speed related crimes.

It just goes to show you that no matter how fast your car is, you just can’t escape the police.

Will Someone Buy Tom Cruise a Helmet Already? .
I'm sure he can afford basic motorcycle safety gear. I mean, he's got that Mission Impossible money. The Mission Impossible Fallout trailer aired during the Superbowl VII last Sunday. It’ll be the summer-blockbuster of its predecessors. The ultra-sexy trailer is filled with quick-cuts, rock music, and plenty of shots of Tom Cruise looking stern and strong, and taller than he actually he is. I like the movies… kind of, but what caught my attention in this trailer was Henry Cavill’s mustache. The other thing that caught my attention was yet another motorcycle chase scene, with no gear or helmet.
