At the same time, they should ensure that the air flow stays on the car while it is prepared and improved on its way to the rear of the car.

Mercedes had used a similar arrangement of the winglets over the past season. In the first half of this season, on the other hand, they were not seen by the car because they may not bring the desired performance advantage under the original aerodynamic layout.
