Fruit at Meijer Recalled Due to Salmonella Contamination
Meijer has issued a recall on whole cantaloupe and some pre-cut cantaloupe items due to a potential contamination with Salmonella. (Related: 100 Unhealthiest Foods on the Planet.) The cantaloupe was sold at all 253 Meijer locations in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, and Wisconsin between Sept. 26 and Oct. 5.The whole fruit may have a "Kandy Brand from Eagle Produce, LLC" sticker on it, but the FDA advises that even cantaloupe without an identifying sticker purchased from the retailer should be considered part of the recall and not consumed.
