How One Man Lost 50 Pounds—and Kept It Off After Age 50 Not everyone is doomed to the hell of yo-yo dieting. Take it from Dave Campbell, who lost 56 pounds more than a decade ago—and has kept it off ever since. How often do you hear that?By 2005, Campbell was back up to 203. "I wasn’t even 40 yet!" he recalls. "That’s when the light came on. I said to myself, 'That’s it.'" Campbell threw himself into dieting and running and in under a year was down to 144. Twelve years later, he admits he lost too much too soon. “I’d never recommend anyone do what I did—I went cold turkey, cut out everything, deprived myself of even healthy foods. It was dangerous.

After beginning her "Unbreakable" tour in 2015, Janet Jackson took a break to start a family, giving birth to son Eissa in January 2017. Leading up to the tour's continuation, now called "The State of the World Tour," Jackson has lost the nearly 70 pounds she gained during pregnancy and looks insanely good.

The singer's trainer reveals Janet Jackson 's workout plan, and how she lost 70 lbs.

Janet Jackson gave birth to a boy named Eissa 11 months ago, but she has gotten her pre- baby body back and then some. The singing legend is down 70 pounds , and it involved no cardio .

Her British trainer, Paulette Sybliss, a super-fit 47-year-old mom from London, is dishing on how Jackson lost the weight. Sybliss told Good Day New York the superstar began working out again six weeks after giving birth. Jackson trained a minimum of four times a week, doing intense, 45-minute sessions that focused on strength training rather than traditional cardio.

Now that she's on tour, she continues to work out regularly, with Sybliss traveling on tour with her (she also trains Jackson's dancers).

Sybliss shared some of the moves she choreographed for Jackson with Good Day, including weighted jump squats, push-ups, and jumping lunges. These kinds of exercises were performed one after the other without breaks, which "keeps the fat burning" after work-outs, Sybliss said.

Her face is instantly recognizable, as she is broadcast journalist, who was the host of Canada AM and is now on The Social. But what you don't see is how crazy fit she is. In fact she logs an hour a day of cardio, within her busy work schedule while raising two children. She recently decided on this health goal to be her #BHmoment. And this is how she did it. Why cardio for her #BHmoment? 'My goal was to incorporate a solid hour of cardio into my weekdays,' says Ien. 'I wanted the energy boost that exercise provides and also wanted to be stronger and more fit.' Ien's cardio strategy 'I started my personal program this past June,' she says. 'Instead of driving to the subway each morning and parking my car there - I walked the two kilometres. On rainy days I did a walk/run combination on my treadmill at home before work. Surprisingly, carbs were allowed on Jackson's weight-loss plan, too. Since she was working out so much to get ready to go back out on tour, Sybliss says Jackson needed carbs to keep her energy up, and things like pasta were okay (dancer Julianne Hough swears by them too!).

"She would eat regularly, her three main meals, maybe a small snack in between," Sybliss said. "High protein, she was having carbs, and healthy fats ... it's important that we eat throughout the day if we get hungry."

Less than a year after giving birth, Jackson has lost about 70 pounds, E! News reports. Sybliss told E! that she instructs her clients to focus on moderation rather than cutting out certain foods. "I believe that if you're eating well 90/95% of the time, you can eat in moderation anything that you want," she said. "If Janet feels that she needs to have a chocolate cake, go ahead and have a chocolate cake."

The One Mistake You’re Making That Could Sabotage Your Workout .
You probably suspect that there are plenty of secrets personal trainers won’t tell you for free. But when it comes to getting the maximum gains for your pain, here’s one complimentary tip from a certified PT: You might want to rethink the order of your workout. Most people head straight to the cardio machines before lifting a single dumbbell. While a bit of cardio gets your heart pumping and your muscles working, regularly hitting the treadmills first could backfire in the long run. That’s why personal trainer Max Lowery recommends starting your workout with weight training.
