When Jane Tarren walked down the aisle in her $1,350 Sonite wedding dress to marry Michael Borg in May 2016, she didn’t realise the honeymoon wouldn’t last long.

The 42-year-old groom, whom she had met online in 2013, began hitting on other women in front of her, while the couple were honeymooning in Mexico.

Realising something wasn’t right, the 46-year-old then started digging and discovered messages online from Borg to a friend calling his bride a “fat girl” he didn’t love.

The couple split five months after they wed and now the mother-of-two is trying to sell her wedding dress, to both get it out of her life and raise money for charity along the way.

These Brownies Are So Good, They Allegedly Broke Up A Marriage

These Brownies Are So Good, They Allegedly Broke Up A Marriage A common adage for people who spend time both reading and writing for the internet is “never read the comments.” If you do skip out on the comments, however, you might be missing some of the best gems. Some of those gems are so good, they require independent investigative reporting — like this latest deep dive from The Cut.It examines the now internet-famous comment from a relatively innocuous New York Times article on Katherine Hepburn’s brownie recipe.“This has been my go-to brownie recipe for 30 years," a commenter wrote.

“The reaction has been phenomenal,” Tarren told YorkMix, adding: “People have given me so much support wishing me well in my future life.

“I guess it doesn’t take much for people to realise that whilst it may be funny, underneath was heartache – but what a reaction!”

While at first she thought of selling the dress for $250 (£150)  to raise money for charity, she’s since come up with a different idea - giving the dress to a charity that makes gowns for stillborn babies.

“The money raised is to help these ladies overcome their loss,” Tarren told the publication.

The mother-of-two has now set up a JustGiving page with a revised goal of $340 (£200) instead, for the yet to be announced charity.
