1 arrested after Winnipeg teens stabbed at school: police Winnipeg police say one person has been arrested after two teenage boys were stabbed at a North End high school on Monday. Const. Jay Murray confirmed Tuesday morning a suspect was arrested after a stabbing at St. John's High School on Monday afternoon. Two boys were taken to hospital in stable condition after officers were called to the school around 2:30 p.m., police said at the time. Principal Doug Taylor said in a letter to parents both boys were students. He said a fight broke out between three students in front of the school. The school was under a hold-and-secure from 2:30 p.m. until 3:05 p.m. Monday.

Winnipeg police responded to an assault at Glenlawn Collegiate Wednesday. Kids attending the school said it was a fight between two Grade 11 students. One of the teens was stabbed once in the upper body and taken to hospital , but later released.

Two teenage boys were taken to hospital Monday afternoon after an assault at a Winnipeg high school, police say.

Officers were called to St. John's High School around 2:30 p.m., police said in a news release.

Two boys were taken to hospital in stable condition, the release says.

Radean Carter, senior information officer at the Winnipeg School Division, confirmed the incident was an altercation between three students, two of whom were taken to hospital.

The school was under a hold-and-secure following the incident, Carter said. It was lifted around 3:05 p.m.

Winnipeg police Const. Jay Murray said he couldn't release more information about the nature of the boys' injuries or whether police are looking for more than one suspect.

"We believe the suspects are still outstanding, so we don't want to release too much information … so that we don't compromise the investigation," he said.

Investigators are still at the scene, he said. Around 3:30 p.m., police tape was up around the steps to the school.

Police are likely to release more information on Tuesday, he said.

The investigation continues.
