RCMP charge three with first-degree murder in killing of Stony Mountain inmate
Three men have been arrested and charged with the murder of a fellow inmate at Stony Mountain Institution, said Stonewall RCMP. A 42-year-old man was found at the prison April 22 with life-threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital where he later died. Police charged Kevin Curtis Edwards, 29, and Peter Fisher, 27, with first-degree murder on Wednesday. A third suspect, Aaron Michael Ducharme, 30, was arrested Friday and charged with first-degree murder as well.
say they're looking for an 18-year-old Toronto resident who is wanted in connection with the shooting death of an 18-year-old student at a prom after-party in Whitchurch-Stouffville.
Police said emergency crews were called to a home on Bloomington Road East, near Ninth Line, after 4 a.m. on Friday with reports gunshots were fired at the home, which was rented out for the party through Airbnb.
Investigators said officers found a victim dead at the scene. He was later identified as Vaughan resident Rizwaan Aboobakar Wadee.
Accused murderer Kirk Keeping facing more new charges
The man accused of killing Chantel John in Conne River is facing a list of new charges, including impaired driving and breaching court orders.
Police issued a statement on Wednesday saying a Canada-wide warrant was issued for a suspect, who was identified as Jahdea Paterson. Officers said he is wanted for first-degree murder and should be considered "armed and dangerous."
"He is encouraged to seek legal counsel and turn himself in," investigators said.
"Anyone who is assisting the suspect evade police could be subject to criminal charges."
Those with information about Paterson's location were asked to call police immediately.
Meanwhile, officers said they're still looking to speak with people at the party who haven't spoken with investigators yet.
Police ID 18-year-old shot to death at Whitchurch-Stouffville prom after-party
Investigators with York Regional Police's homicide unit have identified the victim of last Friday's deadly shooting at an after-prom party as 18-year-old Rizwaan Wadee. Police say Wadee, who is from Vaughan, died as a result of a gunshot wound. The shooting took place at a large property at 6336 Bloomington Road E., east of Ninth Line in Whitchurch-Stouffville. It had been rented through Airbnb. It was not immediately clear why the 18-year-old was at the event. Police were called to the residence shortly after 4 a.m. Friday for a weapons call.

Last November William Victor Schneider was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 14 years for the death of 30-year-old Natsumi Kogawa.
