'What's happening to our town?': Penticton man in coma after alleged assault on beach

'What's happening to our town?': Penticton man in coma after alleged assault on beach A violent assault at a Penticton beach on Friday evening sent one man to hospital with a serious head injury. A second man is in custody facing a number of criminal charges, including aggravated assault and sexual assault. Doctors have placed 28-year-old Bradley Eliason in a medically-induced coma because of swelling on his brain, according to his wife Chelsea Townend. "They are just keeping him sedated until the brain heals," said Townend. "Right now [I'm feeling] fear — fear of the unknown. We are hoping and praying that he can come out of this.

You may be able to forget the exotic destination this summer and pack the cooler and load up the car to visit a prime spot nearby instead.

For the first time ever we have had a record number of beaches and marinas that have been certified as clean, safe and sustainably managed in our beautiful country.

Twenty-eight beaches and twelve marinas across Canada were awarded the Blue Flag this year. That’s the most ever certified in Canada’s 15-year history with the program.

THE BLUE FLAG: AN INTERNATIONAL STAMP OF APPROVAL

The Blue Flag is an international eco-certification program awarded each year. It sets the gold standard for water quality, environmental management, education, safety, and amenities.

Wife Reunited With Wedding Ring She Lost 11 Years Ago Thanks to Facebook Post

Wife Reunited With Wedding Ring She Lost 11 Years Ago Thanks to Facebook Post Zuly Schober had accepted that the precious ring she lost on the beach was gone forever. So when Zuly read that Facebook post from Devyn's mom, she hoped for the best. "What I thought was, 'What do I have to lose?' It's either gonna be my ring — which would be amazing — or it's not," she said. Zuly sent an old photo of her wedding ring to Devyn's mom to see if what the teen found was hers. And to her surprise, it was her long-lost jewelry. "I was excited, I was nervous, I was laughing like a crazy person," Zuly said. Inside Edition was there for the moment Devyn reunited Zuly with her wedding ring.

“When you see a Blue Flag flying at a beach or marina, you know that it’s clean, safe and sustainably managed,” says Kelsey Scarfone, the water programs manager for Environmental Defence.

“These world-class beaches and marinas have worked hard to achieve the standards set by this prestigious award, and we’re proud to recognize that accomplishment today.”

The Blue Flag is administered in Canada by Environmental Defence and is managed internationally by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE).

More than 4,000 beaches and marinas in 45 countries fly the Blue Flag. This year, four new sites applied and received the distinction which amounted to our recording breaking year. The newly added locations include both Parlee Beach and Shediac Bay Yacht Club in Shediac, New Brunswick. The other two new Blue Flags will be flying in Ontario, at Tall Pines Marina in Kenora and Loyalist Cove Marina in Bath.

Tiger spotted at Pebble Beach prepping for U.S. Open.
Tiger Woods' U.S. Open preparation is already underway. The 43-year-old was spotted playing a practice round at Pebble Beach Golf Links on Thursday with less than three weeks to go before the season's third major. Multiple people on the grounds posted videos of Tiger playing in apparently miserable weather conditions. Swear a Tiger just walked by, but there were no roars. #3 #PebbleBeach #USOpen #TigerWoods #StartingTheUSOpen @amazon
