Fatal collision disrupts GO train service on Barrie line

Fatal collision disrupts GO train service on Barrie line A fatal collision on Canadian Pacific Railway tracks in the city's Stockyards District on Thursday disrupted GO train service on the Barrie line. A woman in her 30s was struck and killed by a freight train shortly before 6:30 a.m. near the corner of Old Weston and Davenport roads, according to police. The intersection is closed for an investigation. Police said they have made contact with her family. GO Transit says that trains on the Barrie line will be unable to bypass Downsview Park Station for several hours. Commuters are advised to transfer, fare-free to the TTC network from Downsview Park.

TTC subway shut down at Woodbine Station after man runs down subway tunnel The TTC has shut down subway service between Woodbine and Broadview stations over concerns a man is somewhere on the tracks.

The TTC has shut down service on a major section of Line 2 after police say a suspect was involved in a fight fled down the subway tracks.

The transit agency is running shuttle buses between Woodbine and Broadview stations while police investigate.

Toronto police said officers were called to Woodbine Station around 1:40 p.m. after two men allegedly got into a fight.

Police were told that one man had dragged another onto the tracks.

After that, police said, one suspect fled down the tunnel and still hasn't been found.

Water levels rise on Toronto’s eastern beaches

Water levels rise on Toronto’s eastern beaches Anthony Spence arrived at Woodbine Beach, Frisbee in hand, on a lovely long weekend Sunday, the weather finally hinting that this really could be the unofficial kickoff to summer. The first thing he did was utter an expletive. So much of the sand was submerged — a surprise to Spence — that there seemed to be no unoccupied space large enough for him and his friends to play a planned pickup game of beach ultimate Frisbee. Though not as large as it

The TTC has cut power to the area and held trains as a result.

Earlier, the TTC shut down stations from Broadview to Victoria Park, however, stations east of Woodbine have reopened.

The shutdown is proving to be a pain for subway riders. Several tweeted the TTC to say the shuttle buses aren't keeping up with the demand.

It's unclear how the shutdown will affect rush hour service. In the past, closures like this have caused problems across the system.
