Woman attacked by 2 dogs south of Montreal in critical condition Quebec provincial police say a passerby found the woman on the ground and suffering from serious injuries near a home on Highway 112 at around 12:30 p.m. © Radio-Canada Stépahen Raymond is the neighbour of the dogs' owner. Saskatoon police used a stun gun to subdue a suspect after he allegedly became aggressive with officers , police said. Upon arrival, an officer approached the suspect, who allegedly became agitated and aggressive toward the officer , which police said resulted in the use of a Taser .

Police say drugs and alcohol played a role in an alleged assault against two Saskatoon police officers on Saturday that ended with a 36-year-old man being subdued with a Taser.

According to a press release from the Saskatoon Police Service (SPS), the incident began at 1:04 a.m. when a marked police vehicle conducted a vehicle stop on the 1000 block of McKercher Drive. The woman driving the vehicle was detained for an impaired driving investigation, while the male passenger was told by police he was free to leave.

Police said the man tried to get into the SPS vehicle and attacked the two officers. A physical fight ensued. The SPS described the man as behaving “aggressive and combative,” and that officers decided to deploy a Taser to gain control of the him. Afterwards, the officers were able to safely handcuff and secure the man.

One of the teen's female friends tried to defend the teen's father, but police say the teen then attacked the 19-year-old woman. When police arrived, they say they found the father on the street with serious injuries to his head. He was rushed to Kingston General Hospital with serious injuries. Police say they learned the teen had also threatened a neighbour.

Both the officers and the man sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene by Medavie Health Services. The man was transported to detention cells, and was charged with two counts of assaulting a police officer. He is scheduled to appear in front of a Justice of the Peace later today.

Police said alcohol and illicit drugs were a factor in the violent incident. The female driver has released on a roadside suspension of 120 days, along with a vehicle impoundment of 14 days.

The deployment of the Taser will be reviewed in accordance with SPS policy.
