Police make arrest in connection with sex assault incident in elevator Toronto have police arrested one of two men suspected of sexually assaulting a woman in the stairwell of a downtown condominium in the Bathurst Street and King Street West area early Wednesday morning. Police say a 19-year-old woman entered the elevator around 12:45 a.m. when two men entered behind her, pulled a gun on her and robbed her of her cellphone. The woman was then "violently dragged" out of the elevator, according to police, and sexually assaulted in a stairwell nearby. Both men then went to the underground parking garage and fled in a vehicle.

Toronto police are looking for a man wanted for sexual assault after he led a 28-year-old woman to believe he was her ride-share driver.

A woman got into a vehicle she thought was her ordered ride on Monday night, police said, and was taken by the driver to a parking lot where he sexually assaulted her.

In a Thursday news release, police said the driver also made death threats to her.

“A sexual assault is any form of unwanted sexual contact. It includes, but is not limited to, kissing, grabbing, oral sex and penetration,” police said in the release.

Officers responded to the incident around 10:30 p.m. near Eglinton Ave. W. and Jane St., an area close to the Humber River and mostly surrounded by parks in the Mount Dennis neighbourhood.

Police are now asking for public assistance to locate the man, described to be in his mid-20s to 30s with a brown complexion, a short beard, a small build and approximately 5-ft.-7 to 5-ft.-9 in height.

His vehicle is described as a grey or silver car with four doors, police said.

Police would not say which ride-share service the woman had used.

On Tuesday, a 33-year-old man was arrested for a similar incident. The man picked up a woman near Caledonia Rd. and Lawrence Ave. W over the weekend, claiming he was her ride share driver and then sexually assaulted her. Police said the man works for Uber and Lyft, and that both companies are cooperating with the investigation for that incident.
