“A 36-year old male from Vancouver was located suffering from injuries consistent with a physical altercation,” Cpl. Dennis Hwang said in a statement.

A suspect vehicle was seen leaving the scene and stopped by police.

Hwang says additional officers were also dispatched to Surrey where a 20-year-old man, who was known to police, was arrested.

His name was not released.

“Both the victim and assailant are known to each other,” said Hwang, who added more arrests may be forthcoming.

Prasad told CTV News that he had recently denied a subordinate a handful of smoke breaks.

Strategic Aviation, the company in charge of ground handling and Prasad’s employer, could not be reached for comment on Saturday.

As of 7 p.m. Saturday, Prasad’s GoFundMe page had raised more than $2,700.

Prasad said the money will be needed to care for his family while he recovers from injuries that have limited him from walking and working.

RCMP make arrest in connection with YVR luggage theft.
Richmond RCMP have made an arrest in connection to luggage theft at Vancouver International Airport. On Friday, investigators announced they had arrested a male suspect by identifying him from surveillance video from an earlier theft. A week after that theft, he returned to the airport where he was identified and arrested by an on duty RCMP officer. RCMP say the force received 139 reports of stolen luggage at the airport between June 2018 and July 2019. The thefts may have taken place at either the domestic or international terminals at the airport.
