Dad charged with killing infant in Fort Saskatchewan, injuring another child: RCMP Police along with emergency medical services crews in the town responded to a 911 call of a one-year-old boy in medical distress at 6:43 p.m. on Saturday, said Insp. Mike McCauley, Fort Saskatchewan RCMP detachment commander.
Fort Saskatchewan RCMP have a called a news conference Monday afternoon to speak about their investigation into the death of one-year-old Ares Starrett.
Police are investigating the death of an infant that happened on Saturday, RCMP said in a media release early Monday afternoon.
The investigation has resulted in charges being laid by the RCMP Major Crimes Unit.
Insp. Mike McCauley, detachment commander of the Fort Saskatchewan RCMP, will speak further about the investigation at a 2:30 p.m. news conference.

Calgary police say human remains found in northern Alberta last year have been identified as a missing Calgary man, and that his death is now being investigated as a murder. Bradley Edward Shaw was last seen by his family in Calgary on Sept. 2, 2015, and reported missing a few weeks later. His remains were found in a rural area near Slave Lake on Oct. 6, 2018. At the time, investigators didn’t know the remains were Shaw’s.
