Driver charged after leaving passenger trapped in overturned vehicle
A driver who allegedly fled the scene of a crash, leaving his passenger inside the overturned vehicle, is now facing charges. Police were called to the single-vehicle crash on Valley Road in Corner Brook, N.L. on Nov. 2 just after 4 a.m.They found the female passenger trapped inside the overturned Pontiac Vibe, but no driver. She was not seriously injured and was safely removed and taken to hospital as a precaution.The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says it charged a 23-year-old man on Nov. 17 for failing to remain at the scene of a crash, as well as driving while prohibited.

ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — RCMP say the vice-principal of a school in the Innu community of Natuashish, N.L., has been charged with assault on a student following an alleged incident in October.
Simon Leslie, 34, was charged with assault on Nov. 19, police say.
He was working as vice-principal of Mushuau Innu Natuashish School, which has about 300 students in kindergarten through Grade 12, when the Oct. 17 incident was reported to police.
Innu School Board director Kanani Davis says Leslie has been removed from the school in the Labrador community while the legal process is underway.
RCMP could not offer specifics on the alleged victim's age or gender, citing obligations to avoid identifying the underage student.
Leslie is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 10.

Toronto pastor charged with sex assault of young girl, police fear more victims .
Toronto police say a man who has spent years working as both a tutor and a pastor is facing sex charges involving a young girl. Police allege the man sexually assaulted the girl while he was tutoring her on numerous occasions between 2015 and 2017.Ki-Jin Kim, 61, was arrested on Nov. 28. He has been charged with one count of sexual assault, sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching.Police said the investigation is ongoing as they have concerns there may be more victims.
