Ellen DeGeneres Wishes She Had Kids And Is Home 'Bored' Amid Coronavirus Outbreak
Ellen DeGeneres dialed her friends John Legend and Chrissy Teigen as well as Justin Timberlake and Jessica BielEllen DeGeneres admits she’s home “bored” while practicing self-isolation amid the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Chosen to compete during the third season of Ellen’s Game of Games, LeBlanc, 25 and Savic, 26, flew to Burbank, Calif., several times in June of last year to tape the show.
They were the first couple to play a new game called Dirty Laundry.
The pair was placed into the same sweater — LeBlanc with her left arm in a sleeve and Savic with his right arm — and then they had to run together through a sudsy bubble bath, get a ball through a hole and answer a question posed by DeGeneres.
“I swear, you kind of black out,” LeBlanc said, with a laugh. “You don’t even know the question. You’re swallowing bubbles. It was really hard.”
Reese Witherspoon Declares She's 'Best Friends' With Beyoncé
The actress jokingly bragged about her tight-knit bond with the singer. Witherspoon recalled her epic night at the 2020 Golden Globes, when she unashamedly asked Beyoncé and JAY-Z for some of their champagne."Well, I just noticed that they were having champagne and we had, um, run out of water at our table," she recalled. "So I was thirsty and so was [Jennifer] Aniston, who was sitting next to me. And I was like, 'Well, JAY-Z seems to have a giant bottle of champagne.'""He was like, 'Yeah, do you want some champagne?' I was like, 'Yes, I do.' Because clearly, he brings the good stuff," she added.
But they came out victorious and moved on to compete in several other rounds before heading to the big finale.
For LeBlanc, a videographer with her own business White Lavender Films who specializes in wedding videos, it was a dream come true to meet DeGeneres.
“I have seriously been Ellen DeGeneres’ biggest fan ever since I can remember,” she said, recalling that she asked her mom for an Ellen DeGeneres-themed birthday party when she was in Grade 6.
“So I’ve always loved her.”
LeBlanc was plucked from the audience of DeGeneres’s daytime talk show, which she attended with her mom Debbie LeBlanc, in February 2019 after winning a long-sought-after ticket lottery.
“When I finally got it, it was the coolest experience ever,” she said. “And when they pulled me aside and asked me if I would want to go on (the game show) it was like a no brainer. Do I want to go and meet Ellen? Absolutely, no problem. Sign me up.”
No 14-day isolation for some healthcare workers returning to Canada
No 14-day isolation for some healthcare workers returning to CanadaWindsor Regional Hospital (WRH) currently has more than 300 employees who have returned from a trip outside of Canada within the last two weeks amid the coronavirus pandemic. On Monday, about 30 of them were at work interacting with other staff and patients, exempt from the mandatory self-quarantine period of two weeks. Those employees aren't ill or showing any symptoms, the hospital tells CBC News.
LeBlanc did a quick, videotaped interview with a staff member and about a month later she got an email from the show’s producers saying they were looking for couples to compete and asking if she had a boyfriend.
Happily, Savic was up for the challenge.
In June, they got the call telling them they had been chosen for the show.
“Three days later they flew us to Burbank in California to compete,” LeBlanc said.
Arriving at the studio at 6 a.m., they spent the entire day setting up and filming.
“It was a really fun experience meeting people from her crew, staff and producers,” she said. “Ellen was amazing. She’s just like how she is on TV, very funny. She loved when we fell. She loved to make fun of us for sure.
“It was cool. When they weren’t recording we could talk to her. Milos was telling her how he wanted to be a director one day and she was like, yeah that’s awesome. Kind of encouraging him.”
And there was plenty of DeGeneres’s signature dancing in between recording.
'Non-essential' travellers have until Saturday 12:01 a.m. to visit USA
Unless you’re a health-care worker, commercial trucker or someone else with “essential” business to conduct in the other country, Friday is your last day to cross the border to either the United States or Canada. The coming travel restriction was announced earlier in the week by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and President Donald Trump, but the exact timing of when non-essential travel ends wasn’t divulged until Thursday night. Tourists and casual visitors are barred from crossing into the other country starting at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday. Transit Windsor’s tunnel bus ceased service Thursday night.
“It was really fun. It was a really cool experience. It was almost exhausting how much high energy (it was).”
Savic, who is a photographer and owner of Milos Savic Photography, stood alone for the final challenge in the competition, a game called Know or Go.
On a platform high in the air with a circular trap door underneath him, Savic outlasted four others by answering Ellen’s questions correctly, while LeBlanc watched from the audience.
That win sent him to Hot Hands, the money round, where pictures of celebrities are flashed on a screen and the contestant has to name them as fast as possible.
The more you answer correctly, the more money you win. Top prize is US$100,000 (CND$142,138) if you name 10 celebrities in 30 seconds.
Savic named … well you’ll have to tune in to CTV on Friday at 9 p.m. to get that answer and to find out how much LeBlanc and Savic won.
“It was the craziest experience ever,” LeBlanc said. “I can’t even explain the feeling.”
