Another reason the show has been running for so long is that there is no main storyline, it is very much episodic, each episode telling a story of a separate adventure. So as long as the writers of the show keep coming up with new planets for the Doctor and his companion to visit, and new alien villains for

Fourteen years may have passed, but Kathleen Marshall wants people to know the death of her little brother is still a major loss for their family.

“He’s missed. He’s greatly missed,” said Marshall during a recent phone interview.

Pavelick was fatally stabbed at a bush party party near Regina Beach on May 21, 2006. He was 19 years old. No one has ever been charged in his death.

Marshall was six years older than Pavelick. While they were closer when they were younger, the two had less in common when Pavelick was a teenager and she was attending school.

Their father, Lorne, assured her that they would grow close again once they both reached adulthood and had families of their own. Sadly, they never got the chance to experience the relationship that adult siblings share.

“I still see him as a boy really, but he was becoming a man and I didn’t get a chance to really know that man as much as I would have liked,” Marshall said Tuesday.

The RCMP says the case is still a priority. Investigators have done more than 170 interviews, and still have more to complete. Police have received more than 40 tips regarding the homicide, but have not received any tips recently.

On social media, friends of Pavelick have made posts asking for anyone with information to come forward. The fact that Pavelick is still remembered in the community is encouraging for Marshall.

“I’m seeing a lot more posts this year than I did the last couple of years. It definitely makes me happy to see that people still care about it,” said Marshall.

Marshall said Pavelick was funny, and loved to dance and laugh. He was also into sports and video games. She described him as a “guy’s guy.”

One of the social media posts was made by Jayde Goodon, who was a friend of Pavelick’s in high school. Goodon was originally invited to the same bush party, but didn’t attend because he didn’t have a ride.

After making his post asking for anyone with information to come forward, Goodon received several messages from people claiming to know who is responsible. It’s a name Goodon has heard several times over the years.

“I just don’t know what to do about it because I did contact the police and I did tell them everything I know and I did interviews with them as well,” said Goodon.

Approximately 12 years ago, Goodon confronted the person rumoured to be responsible.

“You could tell he’d been confronted about it a couple of times,” said Goodon.

Goodon has encouraged anyone who messaged him to contact the police. He asked anyone with information to think about what it’s like to be Pavelick’s family.

“Imagine if it happened to you,” he said.

Police later estimated 200 people attended the party. A fight broke out between party crashers and guests, and that was when Pavelick was stabbed.

The RCMP said it knows there are people out there with vital information.

In a statement, the RCMP said the majority of people present during the incident were teenagers or young adults at the time. Investigators know these individuals have information regarding Pavelick’s death, but were too scared to come forward during the early years of the investigation.

“This file has been unsolved for too many years and the RCMP Historical Case Unit would like to give answers to the family as to what happened and have the person responsible for Misha’s death be accountable for what they did. This can be done with the assistance of the person who has that one piece of information needed to push this investigation forward, ” the RCMP stated.

Marshall hopes anyone who witnessed something at the party has grown up and possibly had a family of their own, making them more capable of imagining what it would be like to lose a child and not get any answers.

“Hopefully they’ve come around to an understanding of the importance of life and the value of life, and why coming forward might be so important,” said Marshall.

Anyone with information on the case can contact the RCMP at 306-310-7267 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Tips can also be submitted online at saskcrimestoppers.com .
