Frankfurt (Reuters) - Munich lawyer and restructuring expert Michael Jaffe should take care of the Wirecard insolvency case.

The Munich District Court appointed Jaffe as the provisional insolvency administrator on Monday. Wirecard filed for bankruptcy Thursday after a billion dollar scandal. Jaffe's appeal had emerged: the court had already appointed him as an expert last week to prepare an opinion on the bankruptcy application.

Jaffe had become known as the insolvency administrator of the collapse of Leo Kirch's media group. In the same function, he also handled the bankruptcy of the memory chip manufacturer Qimonda, which was split off from Infineon. Currently Jaffe is also the insolvency administrator of the company P&R, which sold shipping containers on a large scale as an investment property to 54,000 investors. A large part of the containers did not exist, as it turned out later.
