MILAN (Reuters) - Italy on Sunday ordered bars and restaurants to close at 6 p.m. and public sports venues, swimming pools and cinemas to close in an attempt to curb a new wave of contamination with the new coronavirus.

These measures, which will come into force on Monday, have been approved by the government of Giuseppe Conte and the regional authorities.

They were announced after two nights of protests in Rome and Naples against the curfew measures.
