After a small odyssey, Christoph Zimmermann arrived at SV Darmstadt 98 last week. There, the 29 -year -old central defender strives for long -term commitment and counteracts possible doubts about susceptibility to injury and lack of game practice.
Darmstadt's newcomer talks about his change
Five years Christoph Zimmermann was on the ball for Norwich City in the first and second English league. But in the past two years it was no longer a good thing for the central defender. Injuries threw him back, he was hardly used. That is why he signaled his willingness for a change. However, because he had felt very comfortable with his family in the East English city, he didn't just want to give it up for something new, as he says. His choice fell on Darmstadt.
'The Boys' Star Karen Fukuhara on the 'Joy' She Hopes Kimiko Finds in Season 4
Karen Fukuhara, who plays the invincible Kimiko on "The Boys," has been carving out a space for herself in the action genre. The actress first broke out at Katana in 2016's "Suicide Squad," an apt debut for a martial arts champion who has training in both Karate and sword-fighting. But Fukuhara is also adamant about pushing boundaries, as both an "advocate" for her characters and a performer who is looking to venture into new worlds -- such as with the single-player horror video game "The Callisto Protocol," which she spoke about for the first time in an interview with TheWrap.

"I was very pleasantly surprised at how intense the interest was," says the player. "I also had a very good conversation with Torsten Lieberknecht." He also wrote to his former teammate Mario Vrancic, who had played with the lilies for two years before moving to Norwich. No matter where he heard - what he heard about Darmstadt was consistently positive. After the first contact about two weeks ago, it was quite quickly agreed. But the way to Darmstadt was anything but easy.
"That was a bit surreal," says Zimmermann. On Thursday two weeks ago he had played a test game with Norwich in Marseille and returned to England on Sunday, because of the problems in air traffic a day later than planned. He was supposed to arrive in Darmstadt on Monday. But because of the cancellation of the flight it became Tuesday. On Wednesday and Thursday he trained with the team and on Friday he was already used as a substitute.

"Good time for a change"
that it was in the end a little more playing time than planned was because Clemens Riedel had to get off the pause shortly after the break. Zimmermann offered a clarified performance in central defense. Last season he had just had three league missions for Norwich, none of them over the full season. You didn't notice that. "I have trained a lot since mid -January and am well in the rhythm," he said. He had participated in the entire preparation at Norwich, got his operational times in the test games. "It was actually a good time for a change," he says. "I am well in the juice."
Stress away from Square
at the Lilien, Zimmermann has signed a three -year contract - a sign that both sides want to work together in the long term. "I'm not the guy who plays here for six months and for half a year. That is all too stressful for me." He currently has enough stress anyway - even away from the square: his wife is still in Norwich with the first son. Zimmermann - according to his own statement a family man - wants to bring them to Darmstadt as quickly as possible and therefore searches for a suitable place to stay.
