  Man, 48, charged with 1st-degree murder in triple stabbing at Mississauga plaza Peel regional police say they have arrested and charged a suspect with first-degree murder in connection with a fatal stabbing at a Mississauga, Ont., plaza. Police say they were called to Meadowvale Town Centre at about 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 22 after receiving reports about a fight. They say officers arrived and found three male victims with stab wounds. One of the victims, who has been identified as 22-year-old Heidrah Shraim of Mississauga, was rushed to hospital with critical injuries where he later died. Police say other victims had non-life threatening injuries from the altercation.

Toronto police are searching for at least three suspects after at least six people were injured in a stabbing incident in the West Queen West neighbourhood early Saturday morning.

Police were called to the Queen Street West and Ossington Avenue area just before 3 a.m. after getting reports of a stabbing following a fight between two groups, Const. David Hopkinson said.

At one point, paramedics who arrived at the scene had to put out a call for help because they were "swarmed" by victims looking for treatment for stab wounds, Hopkinson told CBC News.

One of the victims was without without vital signs for a period of time, but paramedics were able to stabilize him, he added.

Hopkinson could not speak to the victims' present conditions or their ages or genders. Police had said earlier that there were seven victims, but on Saturday night said there were just six confirmed victims — and possibly more.

Police have not said whether the victims were injured outside on the street or inside an establishment.
