The father of two girls found slain in an Oak Bay apartment on Christmas Day has been charged with murder. The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit says it is still investigating the double homicide , and a victim services unit is supporting those affected by the tragedy.

Andrew Berry, 43, charged in connection with deaths of daughters Chloe, 6, and Aubrey Berry, 4. The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit continues to investigate the double homicide and aren’t releasing any other information as the matter is before the courts.

The father of two young girls found dead on Christmas Day in Oak Bay has been charged.

Andrew Berry, 43, has been released from hospital and is now charged with two counts of second degree murder in the deaths of his daughters Aubrey, 4, and Chloe, 6. The charges were announced Wednesday afternoon.

The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit are still investigating the double homicide.

No further information has been released.

“From the moment the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit arrived, they have been compassionate, professional, and diligent. We’ve been engaged with them throughout this investigation and we’re very grateful for their tireless effort,” said Deputy Chief Ray Bernoties of the Oak Bay Police.

The bodies of the two young girls were found the evening of Christmas Day inside Andrew Berry’s home. The father was taken to hospital with self-inflicted injuries.

Aubrey and Chloe’s mother Sarah Cotton had been separated from Berry since 2013. The couple shared custody of the two children.
