Calgary police are investigating after a body was found near the Bow River.

Police said at approximately 2 p.m. Sunday, they responded to an area near the intersection of Heritage Meadows Way and Heritage Meadows Road S.E. after reports that a body had been found.

The intersection is near Deerfoot Meadows shopping complex, and there are recreational walking and bike paths that run along the river.

The circumstances of the death are unknown and CPS said the investigation is ongoing.

Calgary police are investigating after a body was found in the Elbow River near Stampede Park on Friday afternoon. Police were called to the scene at about 6:30 p.m., after a person saw it floating near the Macdonald Bridge and called police.

Police said officers were no longer investigating on the scene as of 7:30 p.m.

CPS are asking anyone with information to call the non-emergency line at 403-266-1234.
