A female cyclist has been killed after being hit by a truck near the Annex, police say.

Police were called to the intersection of St. George St. and Bloor St. around 12 p.m. Tuesday by the report of a collision between a cyclist and a truck.

When emergency services arrived, the woman was found without vital signs, and was pronounced dead shortly after. She was in her 20s, paramedics said.

The truck driver has remained on scene, police said.

The intersection has been shut down for the investigation. Bloor is closed from Huron St. to Devonshire Pl., and St. George is closed from Prince George Ave. to Sussex Ave.

Police are advising that the area may remain closed for an extended period, and that travellers should find a different route.
