  Fourth man charged in beating death of Brampton man A fourth man has been arrested following the beating death of a Brampton man in March. Around 5:50 p.m. on March 19, Peel Police responded to reports of an assault near Sandalwood Pkwy. East and Cedarcliff Tr., in Brampton. Paviter Singh Bassi, 21, was found suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was rushed to a Toronto trauma centre, but later died of his injuries. Bassi was allgedly beaten with sticks, according to police. Peel police charged 24-year-old Harminder Bassi, of Brampton, with first degree murder on Wednesday.

Environment Canada issued the warning just after 4 p.m. calling for the possibility of very strong wind gusts, heavy rain and up to nickle-sized hail. The weather agency says it is tracking a cluster of storms moving eastward at approximately 75 km/h.

Toronto police say they have received an influx of weather-related calls Wednesday afternoon, including reports of downed wires and trees.

The following areas are in the path of the storms: Milton, Burlington, Brampton, Oakville, Mississauga, Vaughan, Newmarket, Richmond Hill, Toronto, Markham and Pickering.

Wind gusts could reach 90 to 100 km/h, which "can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles," the agency warned earlier.
