A male cyclist has been killed after a hit-and-run in Brampton, possibly involving a tractor trailer, Peel Region police say.

Emergency services were called to an industrial area at Summerlea Rd. and Walker Dr., near Torbram Road and Steeles Ave. E. around 8 a.m. Wednesday morning for the report of a collision involving a pedestrian. Once on site, they determined the victim was actually a cyclist.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, paramedics say.

The driver of the vehicle — possibly a tractor trailer, police say — did not remain on scene after the collision. Police say they don’t have a description yet, but the investigation is continuing.
