Paramedics say three people have been taken to hospital after being rescued by emergency services at Woodbine beach.

Police received a call at 2:40 p.m. that multiple people were in distress, with two of them out of the water and one missing near Lake Shore Blvd. E. and Woodbine Ave.

A 16-year-old male with life threatening injuries, a 15-year-old girl, and a third person were taken to hospital, according to paramedics.

Two others were assessed at the scene, paramedics said.
