Candice Bergen landed a Golden Globe nomination on Thursday for her role in the revival of "Murphy Brown", the 20-years-later continuation of the hit sitcom that originally ran from 1988 until 1998.

In a statement celebrating her nomination, reports Deadline, the 72-year-old actress described her nomination as a “wonderful acknowledgement of my work in a show we are all so proud of bringing back this year.”

She added that “it would not have been possible without the help of the president, who not only gave us the impetus for this reboot but provided us with fresh fields to plow daily that [series creator] Diane English and our superb writing staff have cultivated fearlessly and with unique wit.”
