A Kanata family is asking the bus-riding community to help their daughter, who has Down syndrome, regain her confidence as she recovers from the shock of Friday's fatal bus collision. Elizabeth Langan, 25, was on her way home to Bridlewood from Bronson Centre, where she's enrolled in a weekly art program, when her Route 269 bus slammed into an overhang at Westboro station, killing three people and injuring many more. Her mother, Lyne Filion, was waiting for her at home when the phone rang. It was Elizabeth, and she was hysterical. She told her mother there'd been an accident, and that she was at Bayshore.

In the tweet — which the former "Parks and Recreation" star subsequently deleted — he wrote, “Elizabeth Warren would bring a whole new meaning to Commander in ‘Chief,’” joking about her claims of a distant relative of aboriginal ancestry, which has led President Donald Trump to disparagingly nickname her "Pocahontas".

Lowe's tweet was savaged on Twitter, and even received a smackdown tweet from fellow celeb Valerie Bertinelli:
Meanwhile, others used his tweet to offer an unflattering comparison to his character on "The West Wing", and resurrected the scandal surrounding the 1988 sex tape he made with an underage girl.
On Sunday, Lowe tweeted an explanation for why he deleted the tweet, but stopped short of apologizing.
"It was a joke and some peeps got upset," he wrote, "and that's never my intention."
