Former WWE star Ashley Massaro‘s death rocked the wrestling world and shocked those closest to the 39-year-old, including her only daughter who made a heartbreaking statement.

Massaro’s 19-year-old daughter, Alexa, took to social media in the hours after it was reported her mother had died, and said, “I love you Mommy I want to wake up in your arms more than anything I want to give u a big hug please come back this cant be real.”

As we reported, the wrestler turned radio host died of an apparent suicide after being discovered at her home in New York. She was transported to the hospital and CPR was administered, but unfortunately she passed away.

Police are describing the death as “non-criminal,” and her body is currently at the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.

Massaro was also involved with an ongoing lawsuit against the WWE, where she, and many other wrestlers, accused the wrestling organization of failing to properly protect employees from repeated head trauma and concussions that eventually developed in long-term brain damage.
