"Game of Thrones" fans are a passionate bunch, as demonstrated by the recent petition that has so far garnered more than 1.5 million signatures demanding that the entire eighth season be remade with writers who aren't "woefully incompetent," blasting series showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff.

That anger has apparently not subsided, as a new petition is asking that Disney remove the duo from writing and producing three upcoming "Star Wars" movies.

The new petition — titled "Keep 'Game of Thrones' writers away from 'Star Wars'! — says that not only is placing the duo in charge of the sci-fi franchise a "controversial decision," but is also "a mistake, plain and simple."

Blasting Benioff and Weiss for their "unpopular, illogical, immersion breaking plot twists and character developments," the petition states that the pair "should not be rewarded with giving them the most popular movie franchise in the world!"

While acknowledging the earlier petition to remake the final "Game of Thrones" season is highly unlikely to bring about the desired result, this petition points out that there's still time to fire Weiss and Benioff and bring on somebody else.

"There are plenty of talented writers and producers loyal to the franchise that would make much better work in the 'Star Wars' Universe," the petition concludes.

At time of writing, the petition had 13,000 signatures, closing in on its goal of 15,000.

Weiss and Benioff have not yet responded.
