Universal cancels The Hunt release, film Trump appeared to criticize

Universal cancels The Hunt release, film Trump appeared to criticize Universal Pictures is canceling the release of "The Hunt" – a film that President Donald Trump seemingly criticized earlier this week. In a tweet Saturday, the studio shared a link to their official statement. "While Universal Pictures had already paused the marketing campaign for 'The Hunt,' after thoughtful consideration, the studio has decided to cancel our plans to release the film," the statement read.

With Hurricane Dorian moving west toward Florida, Pitbull has canceled his Sunday night (Sept. 1) appearance at the L.A. County Fair in Pomona, Calif. A statement posted on the L.A. County Fair's website says Pitbull could not safely depart from Miami, where he resides, and will stay in Florida to care for his family.

"We’re sorry to disappoint fans, but are excited to hit the stage on the new rescheduled date," Pitbull wrote on Twitter.

Pitbull's concert has been rescheduled for Sept. 12 at 7:30 p.m.

Ticketholders will be allowed to use their tickets to visit the fair on Sept. 1 as well on the date of the new show. Those who cannot attend can receive a refund through Ticketmaster or the L.A. County Fair box office.

Hurricane Dorian makes landfall in Bahamas as record-breaking storm

Hurricane Dorian makes landfall in Bahamas as record-breaking storm Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter aircraft had measured a maximum sustained wind speed of 295 km/h at the time of landfall . This would tie a record wind intensity (with the 1935 Labour Day hurricane) in the Atlantic basin when it came ashore, although this measurement is preliminary and is subject to change when re-analysis is done by the U.S. National Hurricane Center. Dorian is currently moving west at 7 km/h. A slower westward direction should continue for the next day or two, followed by a gradual turn toward the northwest. Dorian is expected to remain a powerful hurricane during the next few days.

As of Sunday, Dorian is a category 5 hurricane that has hit the Bahamas with sustained winds reaching 185 miles per hour and gusts of up to 220 miles per hour.

Hurricane warnings and watches have been posted for parts of Florida.

While Dorian's exact path is uncertain, and forecasts predict it might turn north, the storm "will move dangerously close to the Florida east coast late Monday through Tuesday night," according to a 5 p.m. ET advisory issued by the National Hurricane Center.

How Dorian hit P.E.I. harder than Hurricane Juan.
Technically, Dorian was done as a hurricane when it landed on P.E.I., but as a post-tropical storm it was still more damaging than 2003's Hurricane Juan. "Under the right conditions, post-tropical storms can produce hurricane-strength winds," said CBC meteorologist Jay Scotland. "Dorian serves as a good example that the difference between a hurricane and a post-tropical storm is more about the storm's structure and not its intensity." Hurricanes are defined partly by wind speeds, but mainly by their structure. They pull energy from warm ocean water, and from space, a distinctive saw-blade shape can be seen.
