The couple shared another positive update on March 22, announcing they were feeling better two weeks after feeling their first symptoms.

"Sheltering in place works like this: You don't give it to anyone - You don't get it from anyone. Common sense, no?" Hanks tweeted. "Going to take a while, but if we take care of each other, help where we can, and give up some comforts... this, too, shall pass. We can figure this out."

Elba's wife, Sabrina Dhowre, revealed on March 21 during the couple's interview with Oprah Winfrey that she had tested positive as well.

Bon Jovi keyboardist David Bryan announced Saturday that he tested positive for the coronavirus.

“I’ve been sick for a week and feeling better each day," Bryan wrote in an Instagram post. "Please don’t be afraid!!! It’s the flu not the plague. I’ve have been quarantined for a week and will for another week. And when I feel better I’ll get tested again to make sure I’m free of this nasty virus. Please help out each other. This will be over soon ... with the help of every American!!”

Opera singer Placido Domingo announced Sunday on Facebook that he had tested positive for the virus, citing fever and coughing as the symptoms that led him to get tested.

Actress Debi Mazar, best known for playing the take-no-prisoners publicist on HBO's "Entourage" and an artist on TV Land's "Younger" announced March 22 that she has tested positive for COVID-19.

On March 15, Mazar says she woke up with the same symptoms (low-grade fever, headache, sore throat, body aches, ringing ears and a dry cough) that husband Gabriele Corcos and two teenage daughters had battled in February. Her doctor initially refused to test for coronavirus because she didn't meet the criteria, which typically includes travel to an affected area and contact with a confirmed or presumptive positive.

After finally getting tested and diagnosed, she said, "I found this kind of a CRAZY criteria for a NY’er as I had taken the subway, gone to the theater, the grocery store, the pharmacy, hair salon, etc."

"Bachelor" star Colton Underwood revealed his COVID-19 diagnosis on Instagram March 20.

"I want to let you guys know: I’m 28, I consider myself pretty healthy, I work out regularly, I eat healthy, and I became symptomatic a few days ago, got my test results back today, and they are positive," he said in an Instagram video. "I’m exhausted."

"Lost" and "Hawaii Five-0" star Daniel Dae Kim said he'll "be OK" after testing positive for the coronavirus.

"Ready for a fight? I am. Yesterday I was diagnosed with COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus," he tweeted March 19.

Singer Charlotte Lawrence has revealed that she tested positive for the coronavirus.

"A couple days ago, my doctor informed me that I too have COVID-19," she wrote on March 18. "This is me pleading for you all to protect those less able to survive this virus … Think about your parents. Think about your grandparents."

Christian music singer Sandi Patty, 63, revealed on Twitter that she tested positive for coronavirus. She is self-quarantining and encouraged her followers to take actions against the spread of the disease.

"If you are not social distancing and STAYING HOME, DO SO NOW!" she wrote on March 17. "God has given us faith, but he’s also given us wisdom. Be well and wise!"

"Frozen 2" actress Rachel Matthews revealed her positive coronavirus diagnosis on March 16.

"I tested positive for Covid-19 and have been in quarantine the last week. Unsure of what the next step is (been getting mixed info so will keep you posted) but obviously will remain in quarantine until told to do otherwise. I'm feeling better," she wrote on Instagram.

The lawyer for Tekashi 6ix9ine asked a judge on Sunday to modify the rapper's jail sentence, citing a newly-discovered case of coronavirus with an inmate at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn and Tekashi's history of being hospitalized with asthma attacks, according to a legal document obtained by USA TODAY.

The artist, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, was sentenced to two years in prison in December for his entanglement with a violent street gang that fueled his rise to fame.

Model Bella Hadid encouraged her followers to stay home in a lengthy Instagram post.

David Beckham took part in the hashtag #IStayHomeFor on Instagram to promote self-isolation. He said he stays home "for the ones that we love." On a sign, he wrote the hashtag along with the words "VB (short for wife Victoria Beckham) and my kids."

Demi Lovato also took part in the trend, writing on Instagram that she stays at home for "my parents... my neighbors... my health."

"Bachelor" star Peter Weber is thinking about his former employer Compass Airlines during the coronavirus after he learned the regional airline is "ceasing operations" due financial hits caused by the pandemic. "People, please take this virus seriously and practice social distancing. This virus is causing businesses to close and severely affecting people’s lives. Stand strong and stay safe" he wrote on Instagram.

Bono harnessed his emotions amid the coronavirus, writing and releasing a stirring new song called "Let Your Love Be Known" on March 17. The song is the U2 frontman's first release in three years, and is dedicated to "doctors, nurses, carers on the front line. It's you we’re singing to," he wrote on Instagram.

In a TikTok video, JoJo sings to the tune of her single, "Tell me why you’re acting so confused, when the CDC laid it out for you. Come on, I know you’re not dumb. To go behind my back and hit the bar, shows how immature you really are. Keep exposure to a minimum!"

"Stay in! Right now! Do it for humanity. I'm (expletive) about that, but we will survive," she added.

Gal Gadot rounded up some of her celebrity friends for a quarantine cover of "Imagine," which she shared to her Instagram. Who's in the vid? Natalie Portman, Jimmy Fallon, Mark Ruffalo and Kristen Wiig just to name a few!

Do you enjoy commentary on "terrible movies"? Seth Rogen took to Twitter to suggest his "favorite podcast" titled "How Did This Get Made?" to anyone looking for something to do during isolation.

New Zealand-born actor Russell Crowe took to Instagram on March 18 to encourage his Aussie followers amid the pandemic.

"Hey Australia, Just a reminder, we’ve dealt with serious (expletive) before, and we will deal with what confronts us now," he wrote, captioning photos of burned trees in a nod to Australia's wild fire crisis earlier this year. "Together (minimum 1.5 metres apart)."

Hilary Duff encouraged her fans to practice social distancing in an Instagram post on March 17.

"I know for all the parents out there.... these days are tough to get through entertaining multiple little ones... becoming teachers, cooking, cleaning, no break, repeat," she wrote. "People who can sit on their couch at home please be responsible and do so. We can get through this together if we all do what’s recommended."

Taylor Swift urged her followers to take the coronavirus seriously on her Instagram Stories on March 16.

"Things aren't being taken seriously enough right now. I'm seeing lots of get togethers and hangs and parties still happening," she wrote. "This is the time to cancel plans, actually truly isolate as much as you can, and don't assume that because you don't feel sick that you aren't possibly passing something on to someone elderly or vulnerable to this. It's a really scary time but we need to make social sacrifices right now."

Jared Leto was one of the last people to find out about the coronavirus pandemic. He emerged from complete isolation at a desert retreat after 12 days to find much of the world shutting down.

"Walked out yesterday into a very different world," Leto tweeted on March 17. "One that’s been changed forever. Mind blowing - to say the least. I’m getting messages from friends and family all around the globe and catching up on what’s going on."

Kim Kardashian West implored her Instagram followers Tuesday to follow the guidelines of social distancing and stay at home, "especially people who are young and healthy.

"Unless you are leaving your home to go to work, restock on necessary food and essentials, to see your doctor or to help someone in need such as an elderly neighbor, please do not ignore the severity of the warnings to stay inside to stop the spread of this virus," she said.

Matthew McConaughey reminded his Twitter followers in a video Tuesday to take care of themselves and others "in these crazy times," highlighting the importance of focusing on "fairness, kindness, accountability, resilience, respect (and) courage.

He added: "Right now, more than ever before, we're more dependent on each other than we ever have been. But we have an enemy in coronavirus that is faceless, that is race-less, sex-less, non-denominational and bipartisan. And it's an enemy we all agree we are going to beat."

On March 13, Mariah Carey shared a TikTok video of herself washing her hands alongside her children to a song: "Exercising this to 20 seconds of Ol' Dirty Bastard! Wash your hands! Stay safe!!!"

Lady Gaga encouraged her followers to be nice to one another.

"Now it’s as important as ever to be kind. For those who are sick, or those who are not and are scared," she wrote on Twitter March 12. "We’re in this together. I love you world."

On March 17, Brad Paisley announced that The Store, his free Nashville-based grocery store, kicked-started a volunteer-run delivery service that will deliver a week of groceries to seniors in certain neighborhoods.

"The Store is still open, but in light of how times have changed, we have decided to change the way we do things a bit," Paisley said, explaining that groceries would be delivered to "elderly people that should not be out shopping on their own at these times."

In a joint interview with Witherspoon, Kerry Washington agreed: "As Reese said, (I'm) trying to gather the information that we need to get in order to take care of ourselves and our loved ones, but also remembering that your stress level can impact your immunity, and so to try and be calm as well."

Miley Cyrus offered some blunt advice. "Wash your damn hands," she tweeted on March 10 alongside a step-by-step poster of proper hand-washing technique with soap and water.

Billie Eilish said she used to not take the pandemic seriously until she realized "it's not about me…  I should be worried about the people around me."

"I've seen a lot of young people out in the world all over the place, going to the club or going to the beach or just going out and hanging out, and it's really irresponsible," she said on March 16.

John Legend followed suit, announcing he would take requests in a live stream from his official Instagram account on March 17 for a virtual concert.

"My friend Chris Martin did a lovely little concert from home today," Legend said. "See you soon. We'll try to get through this together!"

Keith Urban was joined by wife Nicole Kidman as an impromptu back-up vocalist and dancer while streaming a performance to fans on March 16. "I was supposed to be playing with my whole band tonight and obviously we can't, and that bummed me out huge," Urban told fans between songs. "I really wanted to be able to play, so we're down here in the warehouse – this is our joint, where we store everything – and we thought we'd break out the camera, the iPhone, and stream live."

Amy Adams partnered with Garner to create the "Save With Stories" Instagram page. It features celebrities, such as Adams, Garner, Reese Witherspoon and Natalie Portman, reading children's stories to kids affected by school closures.

Alicia Keys offered an uplifting message.

Mark Ruffalo urged his followers to look to experts for guidance.

"Folks, although coronavirus can be mild for some it is devastating to others, especially the elderly. Listen to the scientists and doctors not to Fox News and the White House. They are misleading you," the actor wrote on March 12. "This is more deadly and far more contagious."

Ellen Pompeo sent a special shout-out to "nurses and doctors and all health care workers."

"Many of us have the privilege to self-quarantine and isolate and try to stay healthy and none of you have that privilege," Pompeo said in an Instagram video March 13. "Anyone who works in a hospital or the health care industry, you rock. We love you. Stay safe."

Kristen Bell shared a heartfelt message after posting some memes about the virus.

"There are alot (sic) of jokes being made about the coronavirus right now. I just wanna be clear: My deepest condolences go out to the people and families effected (sic) by this virus," she wrote on her Instagram Stories. "I also know there are a ton of us trying to figure out how to deal with the panic of this whole thing. So lets let the joke and the memes get us through this, together. People feel calmer and closer when they laugh together. Comedy bonds people."

Amid concerns over Betty White's well-being, her representative Jeff Witjas assured fans the 98-year-old icon is fine. "Betty is doing well," Witjas told USA TODAY.

"The View" co-host Joy Behar announced March 13 that she will be stepping away from the show temporarily as a safety precaution, citing her age.

"I’m in a higher risk group because of my age, but I’m perfectly healthy," Behar, 77, said on the ABC show. "I don’t look my age, but I’m actually up there. The number makes me dizzy."

"Modern Family" star Jesse Tyler Ferguson turned to books as a way to cope during this time. "I’m gonna get some reading done on my time off. Please recommend me some good books," he wrote on Twitter on March 16.

Kumail Nanjiani urged people to stay home in a tweet on March 15: "People get upset and annoyed at me when I tweet about the coronavirus, when I urge people to stay in and avoid crowds. My favorite person in the world is immunocompromised. Go ahead and unfollow me. I’ll be tweeting about this until I’m down to zero followers."

George Takei shared a tweet about an open letter published on USA TODAY from health care leaders on March 15: "We may not have a president, but we still have great leaders. Listen to them when they say #StayHome."

Padma Lakshmi shared her support for the #FlattenTheCurve movement on March 14: "We can prevent so many unnecessary deaths by following Italy in self-quarantining and social distancing as much as possible to contain COVID-19."

Comedian Patton Oswalt was inspired by a viral video of Italians singing out their windows while on lockdown.

"Watching the videos from Italy inspired me. Entertainers must offer hope & humor to their neighbors in this time of quarantine," he captioned a funny video of himself cracking jokes to a sidewalk filled with just one person. In the distance, two more people are seen looking on.

Trevor Noah was also inspired by the Italian video and tried to recreate his own in New York on March 17. In a Twitter video, the comedian stands on a balcony and begins singing Aladdin's "A Whole New World" - but was quickly interrupted by a voice loudly telling him to "shut the (expletive) up."

Bette Midler aimed her frustrations towards Donald Trump and his policies on March 12.

"So...what possessed Trump to dismantle the US Pandemic Response team put in place by #Obama, for just such an event as the one we are living through now? #JEALOUSY!" she tweeted. "This schmuck is so self centered, selfish, and COLOSSALLY STUPID."

On March 10, Gloria Gaynor used her hit song "I Will Survive" to demonstrate her 20-second-long hand-washing technique for fans on TikTok.

"It only takes 20 seconds to 'SURVIVE'!" she wrote, captioning a video of herself scrubbing her hands while lip-syncing to the 1978 disco classic. Gaynor's post came exactly one day after she celebrated the 40th anniversary of her song topping the Billboard charts.

Kylie Jenner said she hopes "everyone is feeling well." She tweeted on March 17: "It’s so important right now to self quarantine to ensure we aren’t endangering ourselves or anyone who can’t handle this virus."

Judi Dench sure knows how to uplift people's spirits during these strange times. The "Cats" actress posted a silly video on Twitter March 18 of herself wearing dog ears while encouraging others to "Just keep laughing. That's all we can do."
