Keith “Keefa” Parker has been named vp of A&R at Atlantic Records, based out of Los Angeles.

Parker is following in the footsteps of his father, former Death Row A&R executive Keita Roc, who worked with the late Nipsey Hussle early in the rapper’s career. Hussle later took Parker under his wing and introduced him to Atlantic Records’ Dallas Martin, who offered him an internship in 2018.

Parker subsequently brought Roddy Ricch to the attention of Hussle and Atlantic and served as an executive producer on Ricch’s smash debut album, Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial. He is now working with Ricch on his follow up as well as A&Ring Ty Dolla $ign’s new album.

Brand and content strategist Egomeli Hormeku has been named senior vp and creative director at Def Jam Recordings.

Hormeku will provide creative oversight in content creation, digital and social strategies and brand identity and partnerships out of the label’s New York office. He will report directly to executive vp/general manager Rich Isaacson.

Jill Weindorf has been promoted to general manager at Concord Recorded Music, where she has worked for over a decade. She most recently served as senior vp of promotion and marketing.

In her new role, Weindorf will work closely with chief label executive Tom Whalley in overseeing the operations of all label services departments and assist Concord’s label roster in exceeding their marketing goals. She will also continue to have active responsibilities regarding the overall operations of Concord’s radio promotion team.

Under Weindorf’s direction, Concord’s promotion team has become a leader in artist development, with specific expertise in the alternative, rock, triple A and Americana formats. Prior to joining the company, she worked at EMI Recorded Music, Blue Note, Verve and Elektra Entertainment.

Also at Concord, Tyson Haller has been promoted to senior vp/head of promotion, while Angelo Scrobe has been upped to senior vp, field promotion, effective immediately.

Haller will now be charged with directing all promotion department activity and operations, including assigning teams to execute campaigns. He began his career in college radio promotion at both Elektra Records and Virgin Records and later joined Warner Music Group’s incubator label, EastWest, where he built the promotion department and spawned successful acts including Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and The Arctic Monkeys. He later led both the promotion and label services teams at WMG’s Alternative Distribution Alliance before joining Concord in early 2019. He will report to Weindorf and Whalley.

In his new position, Scrobe will work with Haller – whom he will report to – in developing and implementing multi-format campaigns, guide department operations and lead promotion efforts at alternative radio. Before joining Concord in 2014, he worked in radio promotion and marketing on a national and local level at Capitol Music Group/EMI Music, Universal Music, Pellegrino Entertainment Group and Street Information Network.

Jagjit Singh Bhogal has been named head of A&R at Sony Music India. In his new role, Bhogal will look to bolster the company’s position in the growing independent music market across multiple Indian languages.

Bhogal will lead Sony Music India’s A&R department and collaborate with Sony Music’s global artist development teams to discover and lift new music talent. He will also be charged with growing the company’s existing artist portfolio, with a particular focus on breaking Indian artists on a global scale.

Bhogal has more than 15 years of experience in the entertainment field. He joins Sony Music from Viacom18 India, where he led the music content business, A&R and music IP for MTV India. During his tenure there, he was a key force in bringing music-driven series including Coke Studio, MTV Unplugged, Sound Trippin’ and Spoken Word into the country.

BMG has promoted longtime executive Chris Oglesby to senior vp, creative, the company’s lead creative publishing role in Nashville. He will report to U.S. publishing head Monti Olson.

Oglesby’s promotion means he will now oversee the creative publishing team in Nashville in developing the company’s roster of songwriters while expanding their creative opportunities in Nashville and beyond. He will also work to foster collaborative relationships between BMG’s artists and publishing clients in Los Angeles and New York as well as artists at the company’s independent subsidiary BBR Music Group.

Oglesby was hired as vp creative at BMG in 2013, marking his return to the company after nearly a decade working in artist management at his firm Oglesby Writers Management. In his most recent stint, he has been involved in hits including Shy Carter’s “Heaven,” Hillary Lindsey’s “Dirty Laundry” and Thomas Archer’s “Hurricane.” He kicked off his career at Almo/Irving Music, where he signed Grammy winner Craig Wiseman, before moving to Dreamcatcher Music. He subsequently joined BMG Music Publishing for a ten-year period, during which he worked with artists and songwriters including George Strait, Kenny Chesney and Sara Evans.

Warner Music Singapore has appointed Gerald Ang as managing director, effective immediately. Ang wll report to Warner Music Asia president Simon Robson.

Prior to joining Warner Music, Ang led marketing operations in Southeast Asia and China for companies including Discovery Networks and General Electric. He most recently served as marketing director for Singtel’s fintech and mobile financial services divisions, where he launched in-app services while leading marketing campaigns in PR, advertising, social, events and content. In just over a year in the position, he grew brand awareness by 20%.

Ang started his career as a co-founder of marketing agency Frontal Productions. He previously worked for tech firms Green Dot Internet Services and NCS Group, Blackberry, Discovery Networks and United Overseas Bank.

Karen Sturges has been named CFO at the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association. Sturges joins the LA Phi from Endeavor Content, where she served as senior vp and head of finance.

Sturges assumes her new role on August 10 and will report to Chad Smith, the LA Phil’s David C. Bohnett Chief Executive Officer Chair. She will oversee the organization’s financial, information technology and office administration functions.

Sturges previously served in senior financial roles at NBCUniversal, Warner Bros. Entertainment and Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Manager Mikaela Puth has joined the team at Friends at Work, where she brings Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum singer-songwriter-producer Charlie Puth into the fold.

Friends at Work’s Los Angeles office head Ty Stiklorius will partner with Mikaela Puth and Nastia Barkan on the Charlie Puth artist team. The firm’s other clients include John Legend, Raphael Saadiq and Lindsey Stirling.
