Who ya got? Previewing the Western Conference finals

Who ya got? Previewing the Western Conference finals After a wild second round featuring a stunning upset, the Western Conference finals are set. Here, theScore's NBA feature writers Joseph Casciaro and Joe Wolfond preview the series and predict who will represent the West in The Finals: No. 1 Los Angeles Lakers vs. No. 3 Denver Nuggets Prediction Wolfond: Lakers in 6 Let's leave aside questions about how much the Nuggets have left in the tank after overcoming two straight 3-1 series deficits. Forget about whether Jamal Murray can keep shooting the ball like this, or how Denver is going to slow down LeBron James. If ever there was a series to simply make observers appreciate great big-man play, this is it.

Motivated Davis ready to replace Panthers All-Pro McCaffrey

Motivated Davis ready to replace Panthers All-Pro McCaffrey CHARLOTTE, N.C. — There were days when running back Mike Davis wanted to quit the NFL, frustrated over his role as a practice squad player with the Seattle Seahawks. But the memory of his brother’s brief NFL career as well as a motivational speaker helped change that. Now, two years later, the 27-year-old Davis is set to take over as the Carolina Panthers starting running back on Sunday against the Chargers replacing All-Pro Christian McCaffrey, who was moved to short-term injured reserve Wednesday and will miss at least three games because of a high ankle sprain.

AD slows down Butler, and other takeaways from the Lakers' Game 4 win Bam Adebayo's return wasn't enough for Miami, as the Lakers held off the Heat 102-96 in Game 4 of the NBA Finals to move within a win of the franchise's 17th championship. Here are five takeaways from a competitive contest: AD on Jimmy, and the chess match that ensued The Lakers had a Jimmy Butler problem in Game 3.
