La Adictiva celebrates its 30-year career anniversary with its 10th No. 1 on the Regional Mexican Airplay chart as “Lo Que Nunca Será” jumps 2-1 on the Oct. 17 survey.

“Lo Que Nuca Será,” which was composed by Alex García, Dani Pérez and Ramón Brito, ascends assisted by a 12% gain in audience impressions, to 7 million, earned in the week ending Oct. 11, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.

“We’re extremely thankful with this new career achievement, especially as we celebrate our 30-year anniversary,” Memo Garza, lead vocalist, told Billboard. “This No. 1 is a great satisfaction as none of this would  be possible without our listeners.” The band was formed in Sinaloa, Mexico, in 1990.

Its maiden ruler arrived in May 2011: “Te Amo y Te Amo” landed atop the tally in its 16th week and led for nine nonconsecutive weeks, La Adictiva’s longest charting title at No. 1.

“To begin with, this is a song that had been recorded four years ago,” Andrés Valdes, musical producer, adds. “One of the composers is a former member of the band. There is always a competition between several recorded songs to determine which single will be promoted, and surprisingly enough this song had not passed the filter.”

With a collection of 10 No. 1s, La Adictiva breaks out of a tie with Christian Nodal for the 10th-most leaders on the list. Among all acts, La Adictiva rises to ninth (tying with Gerardo Ortiz). Here’s a look at the current standing:

On Hot Latin Songs, which blends airplay, digital sales and streaming data, “Lo Que Nunca” enters the top 40 in its second week, climbing 46-37.
