  Netflix Responds to GOP Senators' Questions About Its 'Three-Body Problem' Adaptation In a letter Friday night, Netflix responded to several questions posed by a group of GOP senators about its upcoming TV series adaptation of the Chinese sci-fi trilogy "The Three-Body Problem," after the series' author appeared to express support for China's treatment of the Uighur minority. And the company's main point: Liu Cixin, the trilogy's author, is not the creator of the show. On Wednesday, five Republican senators — Marsha Blackburn, Rick Scott, Kevin Cramer, Thom Tillis and Martha McSally — published an open letter to Netflix's co-CEO Ted Sarandos asking him to "seriously reconsider" adapting Cixin's series.

Netflix is ​​joining forces with the Kourtrajmé film school created by director Ladj Ly ("Les Misérables") in order to "promote a new generation of talent in film and audiovisual creation", announces the American streaming platform in a press release Thursday.

The partnership, signed for three years, provides for the funding of three short films produced by groups of students selected by the school as well as the funding of equipment works and that of the means of transport of students who do not live in near the school.

Netflix will also contribute to the educational project of this free school without qualification conditions, created in 2018 in Seine-Saint-Denis, by offering writing workshops intended to develop writing series.

The platform will also organize round tables, masterclasses, coaching sessions on oral expression and the exercise of the pitch and its teams will participate in juries.

Netflix had already organized in June a masterclass for the students of the school with the American director Spike Lee, Ladj Ly and the artist JR (who is piloting an art training in this school).

"We are proud to support the Kourtrajmé School which has become an essential reference and asserts itself as a breeding ground for talents who embody the cinema of tomorrow. It is also an opportunity for us to tell ever more authentic stories and original, ”said Christopher Mack, director in charge of partnerships with schools and the creative community at Netflix.

Netflix has been increasing partnerships for several months in training for audiovisual and film professions, and has already joined forces with the Gobelins school (animation), the Fémis and the association 1000 visages led by the director Houda Benyamina, who advocates inclusion and diversity in cinema.
