Darius Rucker and Reba McIntyre to Co-Host the CMA Awards
The Country Music Association announced Monday that Reba McEntire and Darius Rucker will co-host this year's 54th annual CMA Awards. The event will be broadcast from the Music City Center in downtown Nashville on Nov. 11, to be broadcast on ABC. This will be the fifth time for McIntyre — a six-time CMA Award winner — to emcee the event, and the first time for Rucker, a CMA winner who first rose to fame as frontman of Hootie and the Blowfish before moving into country a decade ago.

The list was unveiled Thursday on, and included the announcement that hosts and would be taking the stage together "for an emotional, groundbreaking tribute performance," according to a press release.

Jennifer Nettles To Receive First-Ever CMT Equal Play Award
Jennifer Nettles will receive the first-ever CMT Equal Play Award. During tonight’s CMT Music Awards, the Sugarland singer will be recognized for her ongoing fight for equality on country radio. “Jennifer Nettles is that rare artist who speaks her truth, calling out injustice wherever she sees it,” says CMT senior vice president Leslie Fram. “Her commitment to equal female representation across the board in the music industry embodies the spirit of our Equal Play Initiative and makes her the perfect recipient of the inaugural CMT Equal Play Award.
Puth, 28, will make his CMA Awards debut alongside Barrett, 20, where the duo will perform Barrett's single "I Hope," which is nominated for single of the year. Thomas Rhett, 30, and his fellow country stars will performup for musical event of the year.
Morris, 30, will sing her single- and song-of-the-year nominated hit "The Bones," while Florida Georgia Line will take the stage with "Long Live" and Lambert, 36, is set to belt "Settling Down" during her performance.

Whitney Houston Makes History With 3rd Diamond Album
The late Whitney Houston has earned her third diamond-certified album, becoming the first Black artist to achieve the feat. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and Legacy Recordings announced Wednesday that Houston’s 1987 sophomore album, “Whitney,” has reached diamond status, which is equivalent to selling 10 million albums. Her self-titled 1985 debut album and 1992′s “The Bodyguard” soundtrack were already diamond successes, selling 13 million and 18 million units, respectively.

Rascal Flatts will take the stage with their hit "Bless the Broken Road," McBryde will sing "One Night Standards" and Combs, 30, is scheduled to perform "Cold as You." Other performances include Church's "Hell of a View," and Lady A and Rucker, 54, teaming up for a rendition of his new single "Beers & Sunshine."
According to the press release, "Thewill mark the first time the biggest names in Country Music will come together — safely, all in one room — this year."

"Every time I'm nominated, it's a complete shock and surprise just because there's so much talent in country music," Thomas Rhett tells PEOPLE (the TV Show!) about his two nominationsAside from being nominated for two awards, Wednesday's awards show will also serve as a moment away from home for the country star, 30, and his wife Lauren Akins during the coronavirus pandemic.

Leadingat the upcoming ceremony is Lambert with seven total, including in the coveted entertainer of the year category. Right behind her is fellow entertainer of the year nominee Combs, with six nominations.
Thomas Rhett Gets Nostalgic With New Single ‘What’s Your Country Song’
On Friday, Thomas Rhett dropped the new music video for his latest single “What’s Your Country Song”, released earlier this week. Directed by TK McKamy, the video is described as “a universal celebration of roots, encapsulating the spirit of the song’s lyrics,” in which Rhett takes a nostalgic journey. “The lyrics of this song stir up so many vivid memories for me; I think everyone has that one song that takes them back to a specific moment in time,” Rhett said in a statement. "I wanted the music video to visually capture that same thing and instantly transport anyone watching back to that familiar feeling or place in their mind.
Following Combs is Morris with five nominations and duoand Pearce with four. notably earned his first CMA Awards nominations in the single of the year, musical event of the year and music video of the year categories for his Dan + Shay collaboration, "10,000 Hours."
For the first time in a decade, two women — Lambert and— have been nominated in the entertainer of the year category, which has long been dominated by male artists. The last time two women were nominated for CMA's highest honor in the same year was 2010, when Lambert and Lady A were both among the nominees.
In addition to Lambert, Underwood and Combs,and Church, 43, are also up for entertainer of the year. Earlier this summer, reigning winner announced he for the award after winning it a record seven times.
The 54th Annual CMA Awards will air live from Music City Center in Nashville, Tennessee, on Nov. 11 from 8 to 11 p.m. ET on ABC.
