NBC Under fire for 'Anti-semitic' scene in ' Nurses ' on heels of widely condemned 'SNL' joke. "Unfortunately, myths about Jewish religious beliefs and practices are far too commonplace, and this episode only serves to amplify such longstanding misperceptions about Jews . The " Nurses " scene comes as NBCUniversal was already facing criticism for a joke made on "Saturday Night Live" over the weekend as well as a segment on MSNBC earlier this month involving Mehdi Hasan. "Israel is reporting that they’ve vaccinated half of their population. I’m going to guess it’ s

There is NOTHING in Jewish law that remotely approaches anything the Jews say in this clip,' Ben Shapiro tweeted. It comes just days after NBC came under fire for an 'anti-Semitic' joke made on Saturday night light. Comedian Michel Che claimed Israel was vaccinating 'the Jewish half' of their population. NBC has been accused of anti-Semitism for the second time in a week after a scene from sitcom Nurses sparked outrage on social media for portraying a Hasidic character in a negative light.

An episode of Canadian drama "Nurses" that aired on NBC earlier this month has been pulled from the broadcaster's digital platforms following backlash over the installment's storyline about an Orthodox Jewish patient refusing a bone graft from a potentially "Arab" or female donor, a spokesperson for the network tells TheWrap.

"The writers of this scene check all the boxes of ignorance and pernicious negative stereotypes, right down to the name of the patient, Israel – pious and all," the Simon Wiesenthal Center said in a statement earlier Wednesday. "In one scene, NBC has insulted and demonized religious Jews and Judaism. Overreaction? Orthodox Jews are targeted for violent hate crimes — in the city of New York, Jews are number one target of hate crimes in U.S.. This is no slip of the tongue. It was a vile, cheap attack masquerading as TV drama. What's NBC going to do about it?"

Orthodox Jewish nurses in New York are banding together to combat the anti-vaccination misinformation being spread by a 40-page 'handbook' being passed around parents in a religious neighborhood in Brooklyn. The nurses call The Vaccine Safety Handbook: A Handbook for Parents a piece of propaganda and blame it, in part, for fueling the outbreak of measles in their community, which has sickened over 180 people in New York City. Published by a group known as Parents Educating and Advocating for Children’ s Health, the booklet is locally known as the PEACH magazine.

A record number of nursing and midwifery positions are currently being advertised by the NHS, with more than 34,000 positions currently vacant, according to the latest data. Demand for nurses was 19 per cent higher between July and September 2017 than the same period two years ago. Mr de Blasio retracted the requirement for a parental consent form for the practice two years ago in a compromise with ultra- Orthodox leaders who agreed to help identify and isolate any mohels found to be responsible for an infection. Of the six previously undisclosed cases, two occurred last year and three in 2015.

The hour, which aired on NBC Feb. 9, has now been pulled from streaming on Hulu, Peacock, NBC.com and the NBC app. The episode also will not be available for any potential reruns of the first season of "Nurses" on NBC, which aired its finale on the network Tuesday.

"Nurses" is a Canadian drama that NBC acquired in November to air in the U.S. at midseason. The show, which is filmed and set in Toronto, follows five young nurses working on the frontlines of a busy downtown hospital, dedicating their lives to helping others, while struggling to help themselves.

The series stars Tiera Skovbye ("Riverdale"), Natasha Calis ("The Possession"), Jordan Johnson-Hinds ("Blindspot"), Sandy Sidhu ("Home Before Dark") and Donald MacLean Jr. ("Workin' Moms").

"Nurses" is executive produced by Ilana Frank, Linda Pope, Vanessa Piazza, Adam Pettle, Jocelyn Hamilton and Tassie Cameron with Julie Puckrin as co-executive producer. It is produced by ICF Films and eOne in association with Corus Entertainment, with the participation of the Canada Media Fund and the Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit. eOne handles international distribution on the series.
