Rome (Reuters ) - The President of the Italian Council, Mario Draghi, prompted foreign tourists Tuesday to reserve their summer holidays in Italy, stating that the country was about to put in place travel certificates from mid-May, either much earlier than a large part of Europe.
Speaking at the end of a meeting of the G20's Ministers of Tourism, Mario Draghi stressed that it was important to put in place clear and simple measures to allow tourists to travel freely after the Pandemic due to the coronavirus.

With the decline in the number of new daily contamination, the government now hopes to attract visitors again during the summer.
Italy is the presidency of the G20 this year and presided on Tuesday the meeting of the Ministers of Tourism, the purpose of which was to discuss ways to revitalize a ravaged sector.
In a statement, the G20 tourism ministers said that the "resumption of travel and tourism is essential for the recovery of the economy", adding that the sanitary crisis had offered the opportunity to "rethink tourism" in particular from an environmental point of view.
