  ‘Minari’ Star Yuh-Jung Youn Thanks ‘Snobbish’ Brits In Hilarious BAFTAs Speech The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTAs) took place on Sunday with a number of big winners. In a surprise win, Anthony Hopkins won for Best Actor, beating out award season favourite, the late Chadwick Boseman. Other big wins included Chloé Zhao for Best Director and Daniel Kaluuya in Best Supporting Actor. But it was Yuh-Jung Youn's "Minari" win for Support Actress that had everyone laughing. First, on a sentimental note, she expressed condolences over Prince Philip's death.

Hot off the heels of Danish comedy Another Round winning this year’s Best International Feature Oscar, Netflix has greenlit its first Danish-language original movie, Loving Adults.

Dar Salim (Borgen) and Sonja Richter (Open Hearts) are starring in the movie, which hails from SF Studios, the Scandi producer behind Netflix’s first Swedish Red Dot and the Netflix original series Snabba Cash.

Barbara Rothenborg (White Sand) will direct the thriller about a couple who appear to be living the perfect life after their son is declared healthy following a long-term illness. After the wife sees her husband with a younger woman, she makes the decision to refuse to be the woman who got left behind. Pic is based on the novel Kærlighed for voksne by Anna Ekberg.

  Edgar Ramírez To Star In ‘Florida Man’ Netflix Hourlong Series From Donald Todd & Aggregate Netflix has given a formal eight-episode series order to Florida Man. Edgar Ramírez, star of the streamer’s popular movie Yes Day, will headline the hourlong series from veteran TV writer producer Donald Todd and Jason Bateman & Michael Costigan’s Aggregate Films. In Florida Man, created by Todd, when a struggling ex-cop (Ramírez) is forced to return to his home state of Florida to find a Philly mobster’s runaway girlfriend, what should be a quick gig becomes a spiraling journey into buried family secrets and an increasingly futile attempt to do the right thing in a place where so much is wrong.

Additional cast includes Sus Wilkins, Mikael Birkkjær, Lars Ranthe, Morten Burian, Benjamin Kitter, Karoline Hamm and Natalï Vallespir Sand.

Marcella Dichmann is producing for SF. Shooting will take place on the Danish island Fyn, including the city of Middelfart. TV 2 has taken local broadcast rights. Production is now underway.

Netflix recently opened its first Nordic hub in Swedish capital Stockholm.
