BTS & Coldplay Drop ‘My Universe’ Collab: Stream It Now

BTS & Coldplay Drop ‘My Universe’ Collab: Stream It Now BTS and Coldplay invited their fans into “My Universe” on Friday, Sept. 24 when the global superstar groups joined forces on their first proper collaboration. The British rock band’s label Parlophone Records announced a schedule of upcoming releases tied to the single with the K-pop boy band, including the Inside My Universe Documentary on Sunday at 8 a.m. and the Supernova 7 Mix and acoustic version at 7 p.m. ET that day. The official music video, directed by Dave Meyers, will be “coming soon,” according to Parlophone’s update.

Coldplay are locked into their week-long residency on The Late Late Show with James Corden, as part of the celebrations around their new album Music of the Spheres.

On Monday night, Chris Martin and Co. kicked things off with a moody premiere performance of “Let Somebody Go” with Selena Gomez.

The Brits lifted the energy in the room on Tuesday night (Oct. 19) with a performance of “My Universe,” which saw Martin cut loose from the piano and bounce around the stage in front of a live audience.

Just a few hours earlier, BTS’ Suga unveiled his remix of the hit track, a collaboration with the K-pop phenomenon.

Coldplay and BTS Tackle Ed Sheeran For U.K. No. 1

Coldplay and BTS Tackle Ed Sheeran For U.K. No. 1 Coldplay and BTS’ new single “My Universe” debuts at No. 2 on the First Look chart, which ranks the most popular tracks based on U.K. sales and streaming data over the first weekend. According to the OCC, just 1,000 chart sales separate the current leader, Sheeran’s “Shivers,” and the Max Martin-produced collab.“My Universe” is lifted from Coldplay’s forthcoming album Music Of The Spheres, due out Oct. 15. So far, Coldplay has collected two No. 1 singles in their homeland (for “Viva La Vida” and “Paradise”), while BTS has a U.K. chart best of No. 3 (for “Dynamite” and “Butter”).

Following its late September release, “My Universe” debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100, one of two leaders for Coldplay.

Expect Music of the Spheres to be a high-roller on charts around the globe. In the U.K., it’s on track to post the biggest opening sales week in over two years, and should give the band a perfect nine-from-nine chart crowns, dating back to 2000’s Parachutes.
