About 4,000 Bombardier Aerospace employees have been asked to attend a special meeting in Montreal on Sunday, as the aerospace company finalizes its partnership with French giant Airbus to produce the CSeries jets.

Few details of this meeting are known but workers are expected to be asked to decide on their future working conditions after hearing a presentation  by their union representatives.

Although they are spread over three sites, in Mirabel, Dorval and St-Laurent, the employees are covered by the same labour contract, which is due to expire in 2019.

However, the limited partnership between the two companies created to build the CSeries will now become directly responsible for approximately 2,000 Mirabel employees. Under the agreement reached last fall between Bombardier and Airbus, the European giant is the majority shareholder.

Bombardier has undergone turbulence and carried out large layoffs in recent years, and many workers want to know what will happen to their seniority, pension plan, and jobs in the case of layoffs.
