The first visible change concerns the shape of the flags. Now they are rectangular and no longer triangular. On the color side, some modifications have also been planned. If the green flag (monitoring swimming without apparent danger) and red (swimming prohibited), the orange flag (monitoring swimming with limited or marked danger) becomes yellow. There are also new arrivals. A two -tone flag (two red and yellow horizontal strips) delimits the monitored swimming area during the opening hours of the emergency station and replaces the purple calicot. A purple flag alerts water pollution or the presence of dangerous aquatic species such as jellyfish. A black and white checkered flag indicates a nautical practice area where swimming is risky, but authorized.
