A new chapter was added to the battle of Pennsylvania on Monday night.

Evgeni Malkin was assessed a match penalty for swinging his stick at Michael Raffl after he was punched in the head late in the third period between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers.

The Flyers were able to capitalize once on the five-minute power play but the Penguins held on to win 4-1 after adding an empty-net goal.

Monday marked Malkin's first game since Jan. 30, as he missed the last five contests with an upper-body injury.
