PGA Tour: Tiger still on track for Players despite neck strain

PGA Tour: Tiger still on track for Players despite neck strain Tiger Woods appears on track to give the upcoming Players Championship a shot, as the PGA Tour said Sunday he's scheduled to play a nine-hole practice round at TPC Sawgrass before a press conference on Tuesday morning, according to ESPN's Bob Harig. Woods' status for the event was put into question when he withdrew from this week's Arnold Palmer Invitational with a neck strain. The 43-year-old said on Monday that he had no long-term injury concerns and hoped to be ready for The Players. Through three starts this season, Tiger's yet to finish outside the top 20 and recorded a top-10 in his most recent event, the WGC-Mexico Championship.

Molinari storms from behind to win Arnold Palmer Invitational

Molinari storms from behind to win Arnold Palmer Invitational Francesco Molinari stormed from behind with a final-round, 8-under 64 to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational by two strokes. Molinari turned in a bogey-free performance where he birdied four holes on the back nine, capped by a 44-foot bomb on No. 18 to reach 12-under, which proved to be untouchable by the rest of the field. His 64 was the lowest round of the week. The win marks the 36-year-old Italian's third PGA Tour title, including the 2018 Open Championship. Molinari edged out Englishman Matthew Fitzpatrick, who played in the final group alongside Rory McIlroy. Fitzpatrick held the 54-hole lead but his 71 on Sunday was not enough to pick up his first Tour win.

Playing in his first tournament since winning the Masters last month, Garcia, the 2008 Players champ, actually struggled for most of his round. Garcia's ace is just the eighth official hole - in - one in Players Championship history. After all the excitement died down, Garcia hit a wayward drive on No. 18.

Will Wilcox recorded the first ace on No . 17 , 'The Island Green' at TPC Sawgrass since Miguel Angel Jimenez in 2002.

The PGA Tour said there were 857 tee shots hit at No. 17 between Garcia's ace in 2017 and Moore's.

The eagle moved Moore to 4-under on the day after eight holes.
